I. Claude Code Use Case #1: Clean Up Your Computer
Your computer's running out of storage, but you have no idea what's eating all the space? You could spend hours digging through folders, or you could just ask Claude Code to figure it out for you.
What Claude Code does here: it scans the storage locations it can access, finds the largest files and folders, spots potential duplicates, and builds an HTML report breaking down your usage into what's safe to remove, what needs your review, and what should stay.
Here's the prompt to get started in Claude Desktop:
I want to free up storage space on my computer.
Please analyze my computer's storage and create a visual report showing what's taking up the most space.
Here's what I need:
1. Check my total, used, and available storage space.
2. Identify the largest files and folders, including their locations and sizes.
3. Categorize storage usage into applications, downloads, videos, documents, caches, and temporary files.
4. Look for duplicate files and old files I might no longer need.
5. Identify potential cleanup candidates and estimate how much space I could recover.
6. Create an HTML report with charts and a breakdown of my storage usage.
In the report, separate files into three groups:
- Likely safe to remove
- Needs my review
- Should not be deleted
For every cleanup recommendation, explain why you think the file can be removed and whether deleting it could affect my applications or personal data.
Don't delete, move, or modify anything. I only want to review the report first.Claude Code scans your files and produces an HTML report showing where your space is going and which files might be worth removing.

Once you've checked the report, you can tell Claude Code to move only the files you've approved to the Trash or Recycle Bin.
Heads up: always check those files yourself before permanently deleting them. You probably don't want to lose an important project just to free up a few gigabytes.
That's it. You get a clear picture of what's filling up your computer and how much space you could recover.

II. Claude Code Use Case #2: Redesign Your Website
Have you ever looked at your website and thought, "The content's fine, but why does this look like it was built 10 years ago?"
Actually, you don't have to rebuild everything. Claude Code can review your existing website, understand its structure and design, and help you create a fresh version while keeping what already works.
Let's say you've got a business website that could use a more professional look. Share the URL with Claude Code and describe the style you're going for:
I'd like to give my website a fresh look.
My current website: [YOUR WEBSITE URL]
I want the new design to feel like a modern, premium brand. Think clean layouts, generous spacing, beautiful typography, and subtle animations.
Please start by exploring my existing website so you understand the brand, content, and overall structure.
Then create a completely redesigned homepage and an About page.
A few things I'd love to see:
- A strong hero section that immediately explains what my business does
- A more interesting way to present my products or services
- Better visual hierarchy so visitors know where to look
- A design that looks great on both desktop and mobile
You can explore creative directions, but please keep my existing brand identity recognizable.
I'd like to see the designs in a visual board where I can compare the pages and give feedback.
For now, focus on the design. Don't replace or publish my live website.Claude Code generates a visual design board with separate previews of each page. You can switch between them, compare layouts, and see how everything looks on desktop and mobile.

The first draft usually comes out surprisingly polished. Claude Code picks up your brand's color palette, builds a clean layout, and structures sections like navigation, hero, and product display.

Claude Code can look at your existing site through its in-app browser, and its /design skill (currently a research preview) generates editable artboard variants side by side.
That lets you point at a specific section and describe what you want changed. If you'd rather, you can also screenshot the output and ask Claude to adjust specific parts by describing what you see.
That's why website design is one of my favorite Claude Code use cases.
III. Claude Code Use Case #3: Create Professional Presentations
You've got a presentation coming up, but you're still staring at a blank slide wondering where to start. PowerPoint has plenty of features, but it won't write your content or design the slides for you.
With Claude Code, you can turn a simple idea into a complete presentation with clear content, charts, and a consistent design, all from one prompt.
Let's say you're preparing a product launch presentation for your marketing team. Give Claude Code the product details and let it build the first version:
I'm preparing a presentation for a new product launch.
The product is called FocusFlow, a productivity app that helps freelancers organize tasks, manage deadlines, and track their daily progress.
I need a professional 10-slide presentation for a marketing team meeting.
Here's the context:
Product: FocusFlow
Target audience: Freelancers and small business owners
Main features: Task management, smart reminders, calendar integration, and productivity tracking
Pricing: Free plan and Pro plan at $9/month
Launch goal: Attract 1,000 new users in the first month
Marketing budget: $5,000
Please build a presentation that covers:
- Product introduction and the problem it solves
- Target customers and their needs
- Key features and benefits
- Competitive positioning
- Pricing strategy
- Marketing channels and launch campaign
- Budget allocation
- Success metrics and next steps
I want a clean, modern design with a navy blue, white, and light purple color palette.
Use clear headlines, attractive layouts, simple diagrams, and charts where they help explain the information.
Keep the text concise and make each slide easy to understand during a live presentation.
Please create an editable PowerPoint file (.pptx) and save it in my project folder.
You can use reasonable assumptions for the marketing strategy, but clearly label any estimated figures. Don't invent research data or customer testimonials.
I'd also like a PDF preview so I can review the slides before presenting.Claude Code turns the brief into a full 10-slide deck, complete with product visuals, a launch strategy, and a consistent design. Pretty impressive for one prompt.

You can also ask it to fix anything you're not happy with: crowded layouts, confusing charts, slides that feel too text-heavy.
Important: always double-check the numbers before presenting. You don't want your marketing team asking where those figures came from.
IV. Claude Code Use Case #4: Build Your Apps Without Coding
Ever wished you had an app that worked exactly the way you wanted, but hiring a developer sounds expensive and learning to code sounds like another full-time job?
Well, Claude Code can help you build one just by describing what you need in plain English. You don't need any coding experience to get started.
Let's say you're managing content for a small business. Your ideas are scattered across spreadsheets, and keeping track of what's ready to publish is getting messy.
Wouldn't it be easier to have everything in one dashboard?
I want to build a simple content management app for my small marketing team.
We currently manage our content ideas and publishing schedule in spreadsheets, but I'd like everything organized in one place.
Please build a web app called ContentHub with these features:
- A dashboard showing upcoming content and tasks
- A Kanban board with Ideas, In Progress, Review, and Published columns
- Content cards with titles, descriptions, platforms, deadlines, and assigned team members
- Drag-and-drop functionality to move cards between columns
- A calendar showing scheduled publishing dates
- The ability to add, edit, search, and delete content ideas
For the design, I'd like a clean, modern interface with a sidebar, rounded cards, and a light purple and white color scheme.
Please include realistic sample content so I can test the app immediately.
I'd like the app to work locally in my browser and save my changes between sessions.
Before building, check my project folder and choose a suitable setup. Please explain anything I need to install.
Once it's ready, run the app locally and give me a link to open it.
Don't publish it online or connect it to any external services yet.Claude Code built ContentHub and opened it right in the browser. The dashboard includes upcoming content, team tasks, and a quick overview of what's happening across your projects.

Pretty cool, right? You can also use the Kanban board to organize content ideas and the calendar to keep track of publishing dates.
If something doesn't work the way you want, you can ask Claude Code to improve it. Just test the features and make sure your data saves properly before relying on it for real work.
And there you have it! You've got your own content management app running locally, without having to write the code yourself.

V. Claude Code Use Case #5: Turn Spreadsheets Into Interactive Dashboards
If you're managing sales or marketing data, Claude Code can help you analyze the numbers and turn a messy spreadsheet into an interactive dashboard.
Let's say you're running a small online store and want to understand which products are selling best, how revenue is changing, and where your business could improve.
You don't even need a real dataset for this example. We'll ask Claude Code to create realistic sample sales data and build a dashboard around it.
I want to create an interactive sales analytics dashboard for a small online store called UrbanNest.
UrbanNest sells home accessories, desk organizers, and lifestyle products.
Please generate a realistic sample dataset covering the last 6 months, with at least 500 orders.
Include:
- Order date and order ID
- Product name and category
- Quantity sold and unit price
- Revenue and product cost
- Sales channel
- Customer type (new or returning)
Using this data, build an interactive HTML dashboard that shows:
1. Total revenue, total orders, and average order value.
2. Monthly revenue trends and growth rates.
3. Best-selling products and categories.
4. Revenue by sales channel.
5. New versus returning customers.
6. Gross profit and gross margin.
I'd like interactive charts, date filters, and a clean, modern dashboard design.
Please also add a short insights section explaining the most important findings and suggesting practical business improvements.
Make it clear that all data is simulated.
Save the sample dataset as CSV and the dashboard as a local HTML file that I can open in my browser.
Don't connect to any external services or use real customer information.Claude Code turned 634 sample orders into an interactive dashboard showing $39,526 in revenue, monthly trends, and key sales metrics.

You can also explore which products sell best, where your revenue comes from, and how new customers compare with returning ones.

Since we're using sample data, the insights are just for demonstration. You can always upload your own CSV later to analyze real sales.
This Claude Code use case is a great way to make sense of your spreadsheets without building charts from scratch.
