Hi there,

If you are paying $20 a month for ChatGPT Plus, you might want to hear this. Google AI Studio just got a big update, and 99% of its features are completely free.

Here’s why this is interesting. Most people are focused on the usual AI tools. But Google AI Studio is quietly offering some very powerful features. These features can help you build apps, make videos, create audio, and so much more - and you don't need to spend any money.

In this guide, I will show you 5 real ways you can use Google AI Studio for your business or creative projects. Whether you want to build your own app in minutes, turn your writing into professional audio, or make high-quality videos without a camera, this tool can help.

After reading this, you will know exactly how to use each feature. And you might save hours of work every week.

Let’s get started.

Part 1: Build Your Own Apps in Minutes (No Coding Needed)

1. What Is The "Build" Feature?

Google AI Studio has a new tool called "Build". It lets you create your own apps just by describing what you want in simple English. They call it "vibe coding," and it’s as easy as it sounds.

You don’t need to know how to code. You just tell the AI what you want your app to do, and it builds it for you.

2. How To Find The Build Tool

how-to-find-the-build-tool

First, go to aistudio.google.com. On the homepage, you have two ways to get to the Build feature:

  • Click the button that says "Vibe Code Gen AI enabled apps in Build"

  • Or find it on the left-hand sidebar

Both ways take you to a screen that says "Build your ideas with Gemini" with a text box.

3. A Smart Tip: Use Gemini To Write Your Prompt

Before you start building, here is a smart trick I often use. Go to Google Gemini (the normal chat) and tell it your idea. Describe the app you want. Then, ask Gemini to write a clear prompt (instruction) for you.

This helps you get better results. Why? Because Gemini knows how to structure your idea in a way the Build tool understands perfectly.

4. Example 1: Building A Recipe Idea Tool

Let's say you want to create an app that helps you decide what to cook based on the food you have in your fridge.

Here is how you do it:

  1. Get your prompt: (You can ask Google Gemini to write it, or write it yourself)

"I want a simple app. I will type in the ingredients I have (for example: 'eggs, tomatoes, bread'). The app should give me 3 recipe ideas, a list of simple steps for each recipe, and a shopping list for things I might be missing."
  1. Paste the prompt into the Build tool: Put your instruction in the box.

  2. Click the "Build" button.

  3. Wait about 2 minutes.

And just like that, the tool creates a basic app for you. This app might have:

  • A text box to type "My Ingredients".

  • A "Find Recipes" button.

  • An output area that shows the 3 recipe ideas, the steps, and the shopping list.

5. Making Changes To Your App

What if you want to add something? No problem. You can give feedback right there.

For example, let's say you also want the app to count calories. Just type: "Great. Now please add a feature that estimates the calories for each recipe."

Press enter, and the app will update itself. Now when you use it, you will get the recipe AND the estimated calories. You can keep changing the app until it works just like you want.

6. Previewing Your App On Different Devices

Click the device icon to see how your app looks on a mobile phone or a tablet. This helps you make sure it works well on all screen sizes.

7. Saving And Launching Your App

When you are happy with your app, here is what you can do:

  • Save: Click the save button to keep it in your Google AI Studio account.

  • Download: Get the code files if you want to customize them more.

  • Save to GitHub: If you are a technical person, you can store it in your GitHub account.

  • Deploy: Click "Deploy" if you want to actually launch the app. "Deploy" means making your app "live" on the internet so other people can use it. You can share it with your team or put it on your website.

    • To deploy, you will need to set up a Google Cloud project (it’s very easy), select it, and click "Deploy app". That’s it.

8. Example 2: A Business Idea Helper

Here’s another cool app you can build: a tool to help you think of business ideas.

The process is the same:

  1. Get your prompt:

"Create an app that helps me brainstorm business ideas. I will enter (1) my main skill and (2) my budget. The app should give me 5 business ideas, a short description for each idea, and the first 3 steps to get started."
  1. Add a "Supercharge" feature:

    • Before you click "Build", scroll down to the bottom where it says "Supercharge your apps with AI".

    • This section shows pre-made AI features you can add with one click. For this example, click "Generate text" to make sure the ideas are detailed and creative.

  2. Now click "Build".

The app it creates will:

  • Let you type in your "Skill" and "Budget".

  • Create 5 unique business ideas with action steps.

This is a great way to turn a quick idea into a real tool you can use.

Part 2: Turn Text Into Natural-Sounding Audio

1. Why Audio Is Important

If you create any kind of content - newsletters, blog posts, training courses - you need to know this: a large part of your audience prefers to listen, not read.

The "Generate Native Speech with Gemini" feature in Google AI Studio can help you make audio versions of your content. The quality is surprisingly good.

2. How To Use The Speech Feature

In Google AI Studio, find the "Speech" section. On the right-hand side, you will see options to choose between:

  • Single speaker: One voice reads your content.

  • Multi-speaker: Many voices for a conversation.

3. Single Speaker Mode

single-speaker-mode

Let's start with single speaker mode. Here is what you can change:

  • Temperature: This is a scale from 0 to 2. Zero is the least creative (sounds more like a robot, very flat). Two is the most creative (sounds more natural and expressive, with feeling). You should adjust this to see what sounds best for your content.

  • Voice selection: Google has added lots of different voices. Test a few to find the one that fits your brand or project.

To create audio:

  1. Paste your text into the input box.

  2. Choose your voice (test a few!).

  3. Adjust the "Temperature" (I usually start at 1.2).

  4. Click "Generate".

It takes about 1-2 minutes, then you can listen.

From my experience, the first voice you try might not be perfect. It might be too slow or too flat. Don't give up. Try another voice or turn the "Temperature" up a little. I find some voices sound much more natural and have a better pace.

4. Multi-Speaker Mode

multi-speaker-mode

If you want to create content with a conversation, use multi-speaker mode. This is perfect for:

  • Q&A (Question & Answer) content.

  • Fake conversations to explain ideas.

  • Interview-style recordings.

  • Training materials with different characters.

In this mode, you can:

  • Set different voices for each speaker.

  • Control the creativity (temperature) for each one.

  • Adjust the speed and tone.

All of this is available in one free tool.

5. Practical Uses

  • Add audio versions to your blog posts.

  • Create listening options for your email newsletters.

  • Make your training courses easier to access.

  • Turn written content into podcast-style episodes.

  • Offer audio downloads as a bonus for your audience.

Part 3: Create Professional Video Content With Veo 3.1

1. What Is Veo 3.1?

Veo 3.1 is Google’s newest video-making model. It creates videos from text descriptions and it even adds sound effects right inside Google AI Studio.

This is not just basic video. The quality is surprisingly professional. The lighting, camera movement, and background blur (when the background is soft) look very real.

If you have never used Veo 3.1 before, start by going to the Gallery for ideas.

Here’s how:

  1. In Google AI Studio, click "Start".

  2. Go to the "Build" section.

  3. Click "Gallery".

  4. Find "Veo 3 Gallery".

The Gallery shows you example videos made with Veo 3.1. And this is the best part you can see the exact prompt (instruction) used to create each video.

This is super helpful because you can:

  • Get ideas for videos you can make.

  • See which prompts work well.

  • Copy and change those prompts for your own projects.

For example, if you see a video of a flower blooming, click it to see the prompt. Then click "Edit" to change that prompt for your own needs (like "a video of a rain drop on a leaf").

3. Creating A New Video: B-Roll Footage

Let's say you are making a video about "how to focus" and you need some B-roll (extra footage) of someone working.

Here is what you do:

  1. Click on Veo 3.1.

  2. Type your prompt:

"Create a professional B-roll shot for a YouTube video. The shot is of a person sitting at a wooden desk, focused on typing on a laptop. There is a large window next to them with soft sunlight coming in."
  1. Click "Go".

In about 60 seconds, you get a video that looks like a professional videographer shot it. The lighting is real, the camera movement is smooth, and there might even be a soft typing sound.

4. Extending Your Video

If you want a longer video, just click the "Extend" button and tell it how many more seconds you want. For example: "extend for 5 more seconds, pan the camera slowly to the right."

The AI will continue the video perfectly.

5. Cost: V2 vs. V3.1 (Expert Tip)

Here is something important to know:

  • Veo 2 is completely free.

  • Veo 3.1 needs a Gemini API key (but it’s super cheap).

Here is my advice: Use Veo 2 (the free one) to test your prompts.

Use V2 to get your instructions right. Try "sunlight", then try "night light". Try "fast camera pan", then try "slow camera pan". When you finally have the perfect video and your prompt is good, you can decide.

You can take that prompt to V3.1 if you want to add sound and higher quality. Or, you can just export the video from V2 and add your own music in a video editing app. That way, you get the footage you need for free.

6. Practical Business Uses

  • Create B-roll footage for YouTube videos or courses.

  • Make product demo videos.

  • Make social media ads.

  • Create backgrounds for explainer videos.

  • Produce marketing content without hiring a video team.

Instead of spending hours searching for stock footage or filming your own B-roll, you can describe exactly what you want and have it ready in about a minute.

Part 4: Get Instant Feedback With Live Screen Sharing

1. The Problem This Feature Solves

How many times have you been working on something - a website, a sales page, a spreadsheet and thought, "I wish I could just show this to someone and get instant feedback"?

That’s exactly what Gemini Live’s screen sharing feature does. And in my experience, it’s the best screen-sharing AI interaction available right now.

2. How To Use Screen Sharing

how-to-use-screen-sharing
  1. In Google AI Studio, go to "Chat" mode.

  2. Click on "Live".

  3. Look for the screen sharing icon and click it.

  4. Choose "Share screen".

  5. Select the tab or window you want to share.

3. Example: Reviewing A Sales Page

Let's say you want feedback on a sales page for your membership community. Here’s how you’d do it:

  1. Open your sales page in a browser tab.

  2. Start the screen share and select that tab.

  3. Give the AI a role: "I want you to act as a conversion rate optimization (CRO) specialist." (CRO means getting more people to buy).

  4. Ask your question: "Analyze this sales page for my membership community. Tell me what I can improve to get more sales. Please speak simply."

In seconds, Gemini starts analyzing your page and gives you detailed feedback.

The cool part is you can have a back-and-forth conversation about the suggestions.

  • You: "Do you think my headline is strong enough?"

  • Gemini: "The headline 'Join Our Community' is clear, but it doesn't focus on the benefit. Try something like, 'Get the Support You Need to Succeed.' That tells the user what they will get."

4. Why This is Better Than Other Options

Unlike just uploading a screenshot, live screen sharing lets you:

  • Move through different pages while the AI watches.

  • Have real-time conversations about what you're seeing.

  • Get instant feedback without waiting.

  • Explore different parts of your site or tool.

Part 5: Create Custom Images For Your Business

1. The Hidden Image Tool

Many people don't know that Google AI Studio gives you access to all of Google Gemini's image-making models in one place.

In this part, I'll show you two powerful ways to use this feature.

2. Available Models

When you click "Chat" and then go to "Images", you will see several image-making models:

  • Nano Banana: Great for editing and changing images.

  • Imagen 4: High-quality image creation.

  • Imagen 4 Ultra: Even higher quality for professional projects.

3. Example 1: Creating Custom Stock Photos

Let's say you need professional-looking photos for your website, but you don't want to pay for stock photos or hire a photographer.

Here is a prompt example:

"Create a realistic, high-quality image of a diverse group of three colleagues. They are sitting around a wooden meeting table, smiling and looking at a laptop together. The room is bright and modern."

Before you hit generate, you can change:

  • Number of results: Choose how many images you want (1, 2, 4, etc.).

  • Aspect ratio: Match your needs (square, landscape, portrait).

  • Output resolution: Choose 1K or 2K.

Click "Generate", and in seconds, you get images that look like professional stock photos you would normally have to pay for.

4. Example 2: YouTube Channel Banner (The Smart Way)

This is where it gets really interesting. Instead of hiring a designer or struggling with Canva, you can create a custom channel banner using AI.

But here is the smart way to do it:

  1. First, go to Google Gemini (the regular chat).

  2. Ask it to write a prompt for you:

"I want you to write a prompt for me to use in Google AI Studio for Imagen 4 Ultra. Please analyze my YouTube channel (URL: [paste your channel URL here]) and then create a prompt to make a channel banner. My channel is about [your topic, e.g., 'simple vegan cooking']. Please make sure the prompt includes my brand colors, which are [your colors, e.g., 'green and cream']."
  1. Gemini will analyze your channel and create a detailed prompt for you.

  1. Then:

    • Copy that detailed prompt.

    • Go back to Google AI Studio.

    • Paste it into Imagen 4 (in the "Images" tab).

    • Change the Aspect ratio to 16:9 (this is the size for a channel banner).

    • Set the Number of results to 4 (to give you options).

    • Choose 2K resolution.

  2. Click "Generate".

In seconds, you’ll get four different channel banner options.

5. Iterating On Your Images (Making changes)

Don't love what you got? No problem. Just give it feedback, like:

"This is good, but make it look more 'fun' and use more orange color."
iterating-on-your-images

The AI will create new versions based on your feedback. You can keep chatting back and forth until you get something you are happy with.

6. Pro Tip: Combining With Nano Banana

If you like one of the images but want to edit it more:

  1. Download that specific image.

  2. Upload it to Nano Banana (another tool in Google AI Studio).

  3. Now you can remove backgrounds, change parts, and make detailed edits.

Nano Banana is made for editing, so it's perfect for fixing your AI-made images.

7. Practical Uses For Image Generation

  • Custom stock photos for your website.

  • Social media graphics.

  • YouTube thumbnails and channel art.

  • Product mockups.

  • Marketing materials.

  • Blog post headers.

  • Course thumbnails.

  • Images for presentations.
