⚡ AI Doesn’t Need You Now

It acts on its own

Your AI might soon order coffee, edit videos, and run your computer… without you touching anything. Baidu is betting on this with its “lobster” agents. Anthropic is pushing remote task control. And OpenAI? It’s reshuffling priorities after rising pressure.

AI INSIGHTS

baidu-embraced-the-openclaw-trend-with-new-ai-agents

Baidu is going all-in on AI agents, launching a full ecosystem built on OpenClaw. They’re calling these agents “lobsters”, and that name is already catching on in China. Instead of one product, Baidu rolled out an entire stack across devices:

  • DuMate → desktop AI assistant

  • RedClaw → mobile platform

  • DuClaw → cloud service (no hardware setup needed)

  • Xiaodu devices → smart speakers with agent control

These agents can handle real tasks like editing videos, creating slides, doing research, or even ordering coffee, across multiple apps and devices.

Baidu is betting that AI agents become a core layer of software, not just a tool. As one exec said, this could break barriers between apps and devices.

Baidu is not alone here. Companies like Alibaba, Tencent, and ByteDance are all pushing OpenClaw-style agents as they look for new revenue streams. Because users are already used to “super apps”.

→ There’s even a growing community calling themselves “lobster raisers”, training and improving these agents over time. Is this the next phase after chatbots?

AI HIGHLIGHTS

💡 If you ask experts about the most responsible ways to use AI tools, here’s what they said. Use AI as a thinking partner or organizer, don’t outsource your judgment.

🔈 Anthropic launched Dispatch for Claude. You text it from your phone, it runs tasks on your PC while you’re away. To try it, just pair your phone with Claude Desktop.

🌍 Anthropic surveyed 81,000 people across 159 countries and found one truth: AI brings time and freedom, but also fear of job loss and losing thinking skills. Full report here.

🚨 OpenAI is killing side projects like Sora & Atlas after a “code red” from Claude Code’s rise. Now refocusing on coding, enterprise. Codex now has 2M weekly users.

🚀 Mistral launched Forge to help companies customize AI models like Mistral Small. Instead of bigger AI, they let you customize smaller ones. See its main features here.

💰 Big AI Fundraising: IBM closed an $11B Confluent deal to power AI agents with real-time data. Around 20% of roles may change as automation expands over 2 years.

NEW EMPOWERED AI TOOLS

  1. 📲 Claude Dispatch is a feature inside Claude Cowork. Assign tasks from your phone. It executes on your desktop. Come back to finished work.

  2. 📊 Genie by Databox lets you ask questions about your business performance and get instant insights from your own data.

  3. 📧 Lightfield reads your emails, meetings, and calls to build your CRM automatically in < 5 mins. No manual data entry, ever.

  4. 📡 AutoSend MCP gives your AI agent access to the full platform. Build, create campaigns, manage audiences, and monitor delivery stats.

AI BREAKTHROUGH

why-ai-got-faster-without-new-hardware

A new paper from researchers at Princeton, Meta, and NVIDIA introduces FlashAttention-4, a major upgrade that helps AI models run much faster on NVIDIA’s latest Blackwell GPUs.

But the interesting part isn’t just speed. It’s how they fixed a hidden problem inside the chip. Because the chip spends a lot of time waiting for data, not computing. Instead of doing steps one by one, they made them run at the same time.

  • Run computation + memory loading in parallel

  • Move some calculations to unused parts of the chip

  • Reduce slow operations like softmax and memory traffic

This keeps the GPU busy instead of idle. With these changes, the new system reaches:

  • 1600 TFLOPs/s on NVIDIA B200

  • Faster than cuDNN and Triton

That’s not just a small gain, it’s unlocking performance that was already there but unused. The next gains will come from efficiency. If you can make existing hardware 2x more effective, that’s often better than buying 2x more GPUs.
