FIRE RECAP: BIGGEST AI NEWS THIS WEEK
🤖 Meta just acquired Moltbook, a strange social network where AI agents post and talk to each other. The platform is filled with bots generating conversations, hinting at early experiments with AI-native social media.
🧨 Meta delayed its next flagship AI model “Avocado” after tests showed it lagging behind competitors. Reports say Meta may temporarily rely on Gemini models while trying to catch up.
📂 Google upgraded Gemini across Workspace, letting it generate docs, slides, and reports using data from Gmail, Drive, and chats. Your Google Drive is turning into an AI knowledge engine.
⚙️ Meta just introduced 4 new chips in its MTIA accelerator line, built for training and running AI inside its data centers. The move shows Meta pushing toward custom AI chips to reduce reliance on Nvidia GPUs.
⚡ Mira Murati’s startup Thinking Machines Lab secured a deal for 1 gigawatt of Nvidia compute, a scale normally reserved for top AI labs building frontier models.

AI HIGHLIGHTS
🧭 Andrej Karpathy released a project scoring all 342 U.S. jobs on AI replacement risk (0–10). It went viral, Elon Musk replied… then Karpathy deleted it. Luckily, someone restored the full dataset, repo, and interactive treemap. See it here.
🔓 A security startup broke into McKinsey’s AI system “Lilli” in under two hours, accessing millions of internal messages and files due to exposed APIs. The flaw is now patched, but it shows how risky rushed enterprise AI deployments can be. Details here.
📉 Meta layoffs could reach up to 20% of its workforce as the company pours hundreds of billions into AI infrastructure. Zuckerberg says AI now lets projects once handled by large teams be done by a single engineer. Full story here.
🤖 Uber founder Travis Kalanick just launched Atoms, a robotics company building specialized AI-powered robots for industries like food, mining, and logistics. The plan also ties into autonomous vehicles for industrial sites. See the plan here.
🧠 Naval just said “Software was eaten by AI,” and the market numbers are making people uneasy. Many SaaS stocks are down 30-80% from their highs, fueling debate about whether AI is starting to compress the traditional software business model. See the details here.
💰 AI Strategic Investment: Anthropic commits $100M to launch the Claude Partner Network, supporting enterprise adoption of Claude. The program funds partner training, certifications, and joint market development, while expanding collaborations across Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft to scale enterprise AI deployments.
NEW EMPOWERED AI TOOLS
🧠 Agent 37 runs your own OpenClaw instance, launching managed AI agents for just $3.99/month.
🛠️ Struct is an AI DevOps agent that root-causes engineering alerts from logs, metrics & traces.
🎙️ Lemon is a voice-powered AI assistant that turns spoken commands into completed tasks.
⚙️ OpenMolt lets your code create and manage AI agents, building programmable agents in Node.js.
AI BREAKTHROUGH
A research team from Stanford University and Princeton University has taken a major step toward bringing AI directly into real hospital workflows.
Their system, called MedOS, has moved out of the lab and into clinical environments at Stanford Medicine.
Unlike most medical AI tools that simply analyze scans or patient data on a computer screen, MedOS operates inside the physical workflow of doctors. It sees what clinicians see, understands the situation, and can even help perform delicate tasks. With:
Multi-agent AI reasoning
XR smart glasses for perception and interaction
Collaborative robotics and dexterous manipulation
The goal isn’t to automate doctors out of the process. MedOS is designed to extend human capability in high-pressure medical environments.
MedOS was deployed at the Stanford Blood Center and the Stanford Department of Pathology earlier this year. In collaboration tests, MedOS helped nurses reach diagnostic accuracy comparable to experienced attending physicians.
If systems like MedOS continue to improve, AI could become something much closer to a clinical partner than a diagnostic tool.
