AI INSIGHTS
For a minute, it looked like Google might have to sell Chrome. But nah, a federal judge just said āyou can keep itā⦠with a twist.
Now, it has to share some of its deepest search data and stop locking out rivals. And thatās exactly what AI players like OpenAI, Perplexity, and Claude have been waiting for:
Google can keep Chrome and Android. No forced sell-off.
But⦠it canāt be the only option anymore on default search slots (like Safari or Android phones).
Google must share a one-time āsnapshotā of its search index with qualified rivals.
Also required: licensing parts of its search results for 5 years.
That āsnapshotā of Googleās search index? Itās years of crawling, ranking, and indexing compressed into one download. Thatās like giving Perplexity, ChatGPT, or Claude a head start of a decade in search quality.
ā Phone makers and browsers can now preload AI search alternatives. That opens the door for deals with Samsung, Xiaomi, even Apple (š). And timing couldnāt be better. One in four internet users already use AI chat for search. Google still dominates, but now it has to fight to stay there.
Why It Matters: Even with the data, building a full search engine with consumer trust + UI polish is expensive. But OpenAI, Microsoft, and Apple have the money to try. The real fight begins now: Chrome vs. ChatGPT Browser vs. Comet vs. Claude⦠And for the first time, it might actually be a fair one.

AI CHART
Tencent just open-sourced HunyuanWorld-Voyager, a new AI system that transforms a single image into a fully explorable 3D environment.
Itās a world model, you can walk through the space, pan the camera with your keyboard or joystick, revisit past areas, and even export the entire 3D environment.
Smart Scene Memory ("World Cache")
Voyager remembers areas youāve already explored
Revisited zones look exactly the same
This caching ensures spatial consistency even across long distances
Benchmark Results
Ranked #1 on Stanfordās WorldScore for spatial coherence
Outperformed other open-source models like Genie 3 and Mirage
World models are one of the most exciting frontiers in AI right now. Labs are racing to build AI systems that understand and generate physical spaces, not just 2D images or text.
Until now, most āimage to 3Dā systems struggled with long-range exploration or keeping scenes consistent. Voyager solves both, and gives users direct control to move around in the world they generated.
