Apple alleges former engineer Chang Liu used a confidential Apple circuit schematic in his work at OpenAI.
Apple also claims Liu used a tool sharing the name of an internal Apple engineering application.
The company says OpenAI knew Liu still had access to Apple data.
Apple alleges Liu asked an OpenAI colleague to help destroy evidence after learning about the investigation.
OpenAI previously argued that Liu’s access resulted from Apple’s poor offboarding and security practices.
Apple says more former employees may be involved. More than 400 former Apple employees reportedly now work at OpenAI.
Apple is asking the court to temporarily block OpenAI from developing hardware based on Apple technology while the case continues. The dispute is becoming much bigger than one former employee.

AI BREAKTHROUGH
Google Research just introduced TimesFM-3, a new foundation model for time-series forecasting that can predict multiple related signals at once instead of looking at each series separately. Main details:
330M parameters, pretrained on more than 1 trillion time points
Supports both univariate and multivariate forecasting
Can forecast several related targets together
Uses historical variables such as past traffic or demand
Can also use known future information such as promotions, holidays, or weather forecasts
Produces both point forecasts and 9 probability quantiles
Generates the entire forecast horizon in one forward pass, instead of predicting step by step
Google says TimesFM-3 also beats or matches models including Chronos-2, Toto 2.0, and TimesFM-2.5, with multivariate mode improving results further.
TimesFM-3 is already available through GitHub and Hugging Face, while BigQuery integration is planned for the coming weeks. One important limitation: the TimesFM-3 pretrained weights currently use a non-commercial license, so they cannot yet be used for commercial production workloads.
