TL;DR

Claude Cowork can handle repeated finance work such as reconciliation, variance analysis, month-end close review, and Finance Automation. The safest approach is to test each workflow before turning it into a reusable skill or task.

The process starts with clean finance files. Claude Cowork compares the General Ledger with the Job Subledger, finds important variances, and shows which close items still need human review.

You can then customize the Finance Skills, build a Monthly Finance Review skill, test it with old data, and reuse the same workflow for future monthly reviews.
