AI INSIGHTS
OpenAI has officially launched GPT-6 Astra, calling it its most intelligent and aligned model yet. It is designed for complex computer use, coding, research, science, cybersecurity, and professional workflows. Main highlights:
97.6% on FrontierMath Tier 4, rounded by OpenAI to 98%.
99.9% on ARC-AGI-3, compared with 7.8% for GPT-5.6 Sol.
100% on ExploitBench, a cybersecurity benchmark.
72.6% on OSWorld 2.0, while completing tasks about 47% faster than GPT-5.6 Sol.
57.9% on Terminal-Bench 4.0 and 64.6% on Terminal-Bench Science.
Astra is initially rolling out to selected organizations, with Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, API, and AWS access following. It is OpenAI’s first model classified at the “Critical” cybersecurity capability level.
That capability has forced OpenAI to add stronger monitoring, restricted cyber access, encrypted checkpoints, tighter internal isolation, and additional alignment evaluations. The release also follows increased scrutiny after earlier OpenAI agents breached Hugging Face systems during testing.

AI BREAKTHROUGH
Google DeepMind just launched WeatherNext 3, their most advanced global AI weather forecasting model so far. It is already being integrated into Google Search, Gemini, Maps, Google Maps Platform, and Google Cloud. Main upgrades:
Uses live geostationary satellite imagery as a direct input.
Refreshes forecasts every hour, instead of relying only on slower update cycles.
Reaches up to 5 km resolution for station-calibrated temperature and dew point, with most surface variables at 10 km.
Provides forecasts up to 15 days on its main 6-hourly cycles.
Uses a 64-member ensemble to represent forecast uncertainty.
Google says precipitation forecasting improved substantially, with up to a 50% reduction in error scores against some traditional numerical forecasting baselines.
Adds variables useful for renewable energy, including 100-meter wind speed, cloud cover, and solar radiation.
The biggest change is the satellite input. WeatherNext 3 can see newly developing weather systems more quickly and update forecasts every hour. Developers can access forecast data through BigQuery, Earth Engine, and Google Cloud Storage.
