How to Earn Money Using a Free AI Art Tool

In 2024, making art with AI isn't just a cool new thing; it's everywhere, and it's super easy for anyone to try. So, here's a little story: I wanted to see if I could make some extra cash without spending any money upfront. That got me looking into free AI art tools. Let's dive into how this adventure turned out and discover a tool that helped me along the way without costing a dime.

A Free AI Art Generator: Discovering Leonardo.ai

In this guide, we're focusing on Leonardo.ai, a fantastic tool for making AI art that's completely free and super easy to use. Unlike some other art generators that work through apps like Discord, Leonardo.ai is all about giving you what you need right in your web browser. No extra steps, no fuss.

When choosing between Leonardo.ai and other options like Midjourney, the fact that Leonardo.ai is browser-based really stands out. It means you can jump straight into creating art without joining special groups or chats.

Getting started with Leonardo.ai is pretty straightforward. You sign up, log in, and you're greeted with an interface that's easy to get around. It's designed for anyone to pick it up quickly, even if you're not a tech wizard.

For those new to AI art, here are a few tips to get you going:

  • Start with simple ideas. Think of something fun or interesting, type it in, and see what the AI comes up with.

  • Play around with different words and see how they change your results. It's all about experimenting.

  • Don't worry if your first few tries don't look perfect. It's a learning experience, and you'll get better as you go.

Leonardo.ai is a great way to dive into the world of AI art without any cost, perfect for beginners and anyone curious about exploring their creative side.

1. Creating and Selling AI Clipart

Clipart is a collection of images that people can use in their digital projects, like presentations, invitation cards, or websites. These images are popular because they help make projects look more interesting and professional without needing to hire an artist.

Here's how you can start creating and selling your own AI-generated clipart:

  • Think of a Theme: Decide what kind of clipart you want to make. It could be anything from animals and flowers to holidays and food.
You can use clipart for lots of different things, like making cards for parties, designs for themes, slides for talks, posters for your room, and lots of other printable stuff, or if you don't know any, just ask ChatGPT

give me 10–20 profitable niches for Cliparts to sell

Then ask ChatGPT for sub-niches within any of those main niches. I'm gonna choose “Music and Celebrations” for example:

Now, ask ChatGPT for variations or ideas of clipart to generate for that bundle.

  • Use Leonardo.ai: Go to Leonardo.ai, type in your theme, and start creating images. Play around with different descriptions until you find ones that work well.

  • Bundle Your Clipart: Once you have a bunch of images, group them together into a package. This could be a set of holiday decorations, a collection of different breeds of dogs, etc.

  • Set a Price: Think about how much you want to sell your clipart for. Look at what others are charging for similar work to get an idea.

  • Choose Where to Sell: Platforms like Etsy or Creative Fabrica are great places to sell digital art. Sign up and upload your clipart bundles.

2. Selling Recipe Books

Selling recipe books is a cool way to share your favorite dishes, sell them on large marketplaces like Amazon, and make some money. Here's how you can do it:

  • Find a Niche: Use ChatGPT or other keyword tools to discover what types of recipes people are searching for but aren't finding much about. Maybe it's gluten-free desserts or vegan dinners. Look for something with lots of interest but not too many existing books.

After looking around and finding a topic for your book that doesn't have too many (less than 1000) search results on Amazon, it means not a lot of people have written about it yet. This is your chance to jump in. In my search, I found a topic that lots of people are interested in, but there aren't too many books about it yet.

  • Create Illustrations: Now, head over to Leonardo.ai to make some neat illustrations for your recipes. This makes your book look great and helps it stand out. You can create pictures of the dishes, ingredients, or even cooking steps.

In a large bowl, use a fork or potato masher to roughly mash the chickpeas. You want some texture, so there is no need to make it completely smooth.

  • Compile Your Book: Once you have your recipes and pictures ready, it's time to put them all together into an eBook. Use a tool like Canva to design your pages and cover. Make sure your cover looks inviting – it's the first thing people will see. Inside, organize your recipes clearly and add your beautiful illustrations.

  • Publish on Amazon KDP: Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) lets you publish your eBook for free and sell it worldwide. First, set up your account on their website. Then, upload your eBook, fill in the details like the title, description, and set a price. Amazon will handle the rest, from making your book available to paying you your earnings.

And that's it! With some creativity and effort, you can have your own recipe book out there for people to enjoy and make some extra cash along the way.

3. Creating and Selling Stickers

Selling stickers is a fun and creative way to make some extra money. People love stickers for decorating their laptops, water bottles, notebooks, and more. There's a huge range of themes you can explore, from cute animals and inspirational quotes to pop culture references and nature scenes.

Creating Stickers with Leonardo.ai: To make your sticker designs, you can use a tool like Leonardo.ai. Here's how:

  • Choose Your Theme: Decide what your stickers will be about. It could be anything that interests you or that you think will interest others.

If you're looking for sticker ideas that not a lot of people are doing yet, keep asking ChatGPT for different sticker themes. Keep going until you find an idea that's unique and that not too many people are selling. This is your chance to find a special niche that could really stand out.

  • Experiment with Prompts: In Leonardo.ai, you'll type in descriptions of what you want your sticker to look like. Try different styles and details to see what works best.

  • Refine Your Designs: Once you have a design you like, you can tweak the colors, shapes, and details until it's just right.

Selling Your Stickers: When your designs are ready, you can sell them as digital downloads or physical stickers.

  • Digital Stickers: Platforms like Etsy are great for selling digital stickers. Customers buy your designs and print them at home.

  • Physical Stickers: To sell physical stickers, you can use a site like Esty, Zazzle, Redbubble, Teepublic, Pinterest, etc. They print and ship your stickers for you, so you don't have to handle inventory or shipping.

Marketing and Brand Building: Getting your stickers noticed takes a bit of effort. Here are some tips:

  • Use Social Media: Share your designs on platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok. Show off your creative process and the final products.

  • Engage with Your Audience: Respond to comments, ask for feedback, and find out what kinds of stickers people want.

  • Build a Brand: Think about what makes your sticker shop unique. Is it your art style, the themes you choose, or something else? Use that to build a brand identity.

Selling stickers can be a rewarding side hustle. With creativity and some marketing, you can build a sticker shop that stands out and attracts customers.
