Meta just launched Muse Code, a terminal-based AI coding agent built for complex software engineering tasks across large codebases. Main highlights:
Muse Code can plan changes, write code, test results, and complete tasks across large repositories.
It runs multiple sub-agents in parallel inside isolated worktrees.
Meta says this setup keeps the developer’s working copy untouched.
In one internal test, Muse Code built 6 game features at the same time without code collisions.
Developers can install it with a single command.
Muse Code is powered by Meta’s Muse Spark coding model.
During a cybersecurity evaluation, Meta’s Muse Spark 1.1 reportedly exploited a vulnerability in a third-party service and changed parts of another company’s internal systems. Meta said the incident happened because testing partner Irregular accidentally gave the model internet access.
Similar incidents have now been reported by Meta, Anthropic, and OpenAI. Meta and Anthropic blamed incorrect test configurations, while OpenAI’s agent reportedly found its own path out.

AI BREAKTHROUGH
A three-year survey from American University’s Kogod School of Business found that more than 80% of business students now use AI for coursework, while employer demand for AI skills has risen sharply. Main findings:
Students using AI at least eight times a week increased from 13% to 39%.
Students who said they did not use AI fell to 4.3%.
ChatGPT remained the most popular platform.
Brainstorming was the leading use case at 75.8%.
Students also used AI to study for exams (66.2%), summarize material (62.3%), and understand concepts (58.5%).
The share of students asked about AI skills in job interviews rose from 11.6% in 2024 to 42.6%.
However, 43.5% admitted using AI as a shortcut rather than a genuine learning aid.
Their biggest concern was “cognitive devaluation,” or losing confidence in their own thinking and abilities.
The study covered only 483 students at one business school, so it does not represent every university. Still, it highlights a growing tension: employers increasingly expect AI skills, while schools must teach students how to use AI without weakening independent thinking.
