Remember the absolute chaos and joy of OpenClaw earlier this year? Well, Microsoft was clearly taking notes, and they just dropped something massive at Build: Scout.
Scout is an always-on, personal AI assistant built right into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, and it’s heavily inspired by the OpenClaw framework. It has a persistent identity, a consistent style, and a memory that adapts to how you uniquely work.
You even give your instance its own name, like Sebastian, and train it over time through ongoing feedback.
Deep Workflow Integration: Because it lives in the cloud but runs across your desktop and browser, it easily hooks into your inbox or daily systems.
Custom Skill Building: It ships with custom automation. The more you teach it your specific quirks, the more autonomous it becomes.
If you want to try it, you’ll need to be part of Microsoft’s Frontier program for early adopters, and it requires an GitHub Copilot subscription.

AI BREAKTHROUGH
Bernie Sanders dropped an op-ed in the NYT previewing a wildly ambitious new bill: the American A.I. Sovereign Wealth Fund Act. Instead of letting a few tech billionaires capture all the upside, he wants to treat AI like a national resource.
If you’ve been tracking the massive valuations of companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI, you know the average investor is completely locked out. Sanders is arguing that since these models were trained on the collective knowledge and labor of humanity, humanity deserves a cut.
The bill would collect a one-time tax in the form of company stock, giving the government voting power and a board seat at the top AI labs.
He points to Norway’s $2T oil fund & Alaska’s oil dividends as proof that public wealth funds can pay out direct dividends to ordinary citizens.
Sanders hilariously points out that AI founders themselves love to hype up "Universal High Income" and public funds in their manifestos.
Public sentiment around AI is pretty rocky right now, and the anxiety about job displacement is real.
