📊 ChatGPT Beat X in Global Traffic By Over 1 Billion Visits

ChatGPT pulled in 5.49 billion visits in May 2025, more than X (Twitter) by a full 1.1 billion. People are spending less time scrolling and more time doing with AI tools.

ChatGPT's vs X’s traffic surge:

• May 2025: 5.49B visits, up 6.8% from April → increase of 350M visits

• ChatGPT first surpassed X in April and kept pulling ahead

• May 2025: 4.39B visits, up just 1.1% → only 49M extra visits

• In April, X actually lost traffic (down 5%)

Current global ranking:

• ChatGPT: 5t most-visited site in the world. It's seen as a "get stuff done" tool. X: 6th place. Elon’s "everything app" plan hasn’t gained serious traction yet
