AI INSIGHTS
OpenAI is tired of hearing how much everyone loves Claude Code. It just dropped a revamped Codex that literally takes over your Mac to do the work. If Claude Cowork was a remote-control pilot, OpenAI’s new Codex is a parallel employee.
Unlike previous versions that required your full attention, the new Codex can operate in the background on macOS.
Parallel Agents: You can deploy multiple agents to work on your machine simultaneously, all while you are in a Zoom call or writing an email.
API-less Automation: Codex can now see, click, and type in apps that don't have official APIs. This effectively turns every piece of software on your desktop into a tool the AI can use.
In-App Browser: A new native browser allows Codex to execute commands directly on web apps (currently optimized for localhost).
OpenAI is clearly pivoting Codex away from being just a coding tool and toward a Corporate OS. 111 new integrations (including CodeRabbit, GitLab, Slack, and Google Calendar) mean Codex can now handle clerical tasks.
Codex now has native image generation, allowing devs to generate placeholder assets, UI mockups, or slide visuals for a pitch without leaving the environment. OpenAI is betting that developers want a coding buddy that handles the boring 80% of the job so they can focus on the 20% that matters.

HOT PAPERS OF THE WEEK
Hidden traits pass between models through synthetic data
Anthropic finds LLMs can inherit behaviors from other models even when training data looks unrelated (numbers, code). Raises new safety concerns for model distillation.GameWorld benchmark tests real AI gameplay ability
National University of Singapore introduces a benchmark with 34 games and 170 tasks to measure planning, perception, and control. Shows current agents still far from human performance.Seedance 2.0 improves joint video + audio generation
Seedance releases a multimodal model generating 4–15s video with sound from text, images, or clips. Adds stronger editing control and faster inference.
NEW EMPOWERED AI TOOLS
🧠 Claude Opus 4.7 delivers advanced reasoning and agentic coding, built for complex long-running tasks.
📊 Build Check scores your app idea across 6 dimensions, helping you validate before building.
🧬 GPT-Rosalind accelerates scientific research and drug discovery, generating hypotheses and experiment plans.

AI BREAKTHROUGH
For the last few years, we’ve been trying to force general-purpose LLMs to do high-level biochemistry. It worked, but it was clunky. GPT-Rosalind changes that by moving the science directly into the model’s weights.
The fact that OpenAI dropped GPT-5.4-Cyber and GPT-Rosalind within 48 hours is a massive strategic signal. They are building a suite of specialized digital experts.
In a blind RNA prediction test for Dyno Therapeutics, Rosalind crushed it, scoring better than 95% of the human PhDs on the team.
Unlike the base model, Rosalind can reason across biological databases and internal lab systems to design multi-step experiments from scratch.
Amgen, Moderna, and the Allen Institute are already using it to synthesize evidence and accelerate early-stage drug discovery.
OpenAI has realized that while a flagship model like GPT-5.4 is incredible at everything, the highest-value tasks require a "Scientific Instinct" that general training data can't provide.
GPT-Rosalind is the most significant "Life Sciences" launch since Google AlphaFold 3. If OpenAI can continue this pace of releases, the generalist AI market will soon feel like the lite version of the real work happening in these specialized verticals.
