💰 OpenAI Saved $97 Billion by 2030
Stop your AI models from overbilling you!

OpenAI just pulled off a masterclass in financial engineering, capping its revenue-sharing with Microsoft at $38B and effectively ‘saving’ $97 billion in future cash.

AI INSIGHTS
OpenAI has successfully negotiated a $38 billion cap on its revenue-sharing payments. By putting a ceiling on what they owe their primary backer, OpenAI just effectively "saved" $97 billion in future cash flow. Here’s the deal:
No matter how much revenue ChatGPT generates (and it's currently on a tear), Microsoft’s cut is now capped at $38 billion total through 2030.
Azure remains the primary partner, but for the first time, OpenAI is now explicitly allowed to serve its products through other cloud providers.
Microsoft’s license to OpenAI’s models is now non-exclusive. This means OpenAI can sell its tech to other giants (Apple or even sovereign nations)
Microsoft will no longer pay a revenue share to OpenAI for using its tech. Instead, they’ll participate purely as a major shareholder.
OpenAI is actually positioning themselves as a sovereign entity. They can now spend on their own infrastructure, like the $18 billion "Project Nexus" chip deal we talked about earlier.
Microsoft, for its part, is likely okay with this because their profit on OpenAI is already over $122 billion. They’ve already won. Now, they’re just trying to keep the partnership flexible enough to avoid a total antitrust breakup from regulators.

GPT-5.5’S UPDATE PROMPTING GUIDE
I bet many of you here don’t know that when OpenAI released GPT 5.5, they also updated their official prompting guide. The old mega prompt style, where you write a long list of steps for the AI to follow, doesn’t get the best results anymore.
This is also happening with Opus 4.7 & Gemini 3.1 Pro. These top models already know how to reach good results on their own. When you force them through 15 small steps, you actually block part of their ability.
So what replaces mega prompts? A simple framework called the 4D Method. Instead of controlling every step, you give these models only 4 things:
In this guide, we’ll walk through each part together so you can start using it right away on your own tasks. You can copy the final template at the end as well!

🚨 OpenAI, Anthropic, and GitHub didn’t raise prices directly. Instead, all three just quietly adjusted their billing rules. Your actual usage cost may already be higher.

AI BREAKTHROUGH
Google DeepMind just built an AI co-mathematician based on Gemini 3.1, and it’s already helping solve research-level math problems that humans struggled with for years. What’s wild is how agentic this system is.
Instead of one AI doing everything, it works more like a research team:
→ one agent breaks the problem apart
→ other agents search papers, write code, test proofs, and review each other’s work
→ then the best ideas get surfaced back to the mathematician
And it’s not just theory. An Oxford mathematician reportedly solved an open problem after noticing a “really, really clever proof strategy” hidden inside one of the AI’s rejected outputs. The benchmark jump is also huge:
Gemini 3.1 Pro alone scored 19%
This new agentic math system reached 48%
Honestly, this feels very similar to what happened with coding. The biggest leap was giving AI systems workflows, tools, memory, parallel agents, and review loops. I don’t think AI replaces mathematicians here.
But if top researchers suddenly get AI teammates that can test thousands of proof directions in parallel… the speed of scientific discovery may change very fast.
