TL;DR: The Gauntlet Prompt is a prompt engineering technique that turns Claude into its own quality control manager. Instead of getting one messy draft and spending the next hour asking Claude to fix things one by one, you set the standards upfront and let Claude loop through Plan, Build, Review, Fix on its own.

I tested it by building a TaskFlow landing page twice, once with a basic prompt, once with the Gauntlet method. The difference was real. Claude ran three review cycles, passed 83 checks, and then I asked it to review again and it found 18 more issues it had missed.

  • Four components: Task, Method, Standard, and Output Rules.

  • Final result: TaskFlow became ready to share as a demo, with backend integration still required.
