Pareto isn’t one set of model weights. It combines several open and frontier models through a routing system that:

Sends difficult tasks to stronger models.
Uses cheaper models for simple questions.
The company skipped a new training run and built Pareto around private tests showing which models perform best at different tasks.
Demand reached billions of tokens per minute within hours, making Union Alpha painfully slow. AWS tripled its capacity overnight, but that still wasn’t enough.
Paid access is coming at $2.50 per million input tokens and $7.50 per million output tokens, less than one-quarter of GPT-6 Astra’s list price.
Pareto 26.9 may offer an early look at the next model race, where several models work behind one name and a router decides how much intelligence each request needs.

🚨 An AI-generated intelligence report almost pushed the U.S. military to board a Chinese ship, according to CNN. The chatbot falsely claimed it carried nuclear weapon parts, with military aircraft already in the air before officials caught the error.
🎬 Meituan released LongCat‑Video‑Avatar 1.5, a free open-source model that turns a photo and audio into minutes-long talking avatar videos. It supports 720p, multiple people, anime, animals, and accurate lip sync.
🛑 California may require an AI “kill switch” for powerful models from companies like OpenAI and Anthropic. Governor Gavin Newsom gave an expert group two months to propose shutdown rules and independent safety checks.
💸 OpenAI expects to burn $278B in cash by 2030 while spending around $856B on computing and infrastructure. Its annual revenue could jump from $36B to $350B, but the company may exhaust its latest funding by 2028.

WeatherNext 3 delivers 50% more accurate rain forecasts at least one day ahead.
Planetary Prediction Engine identified 83% of emerging Ebola hotspots before they formed.
Google’s breast cancer model detected 25% of interval cancers previously missed across 175,000 mammograms.
Google’s flood forecasts now cover 2 billion people across 150+ countries.
Google has also expanded its technologies to support 300+ languages spoken by 7 billion people, which represents 86% of the global population.
Several systems are already being used in hospitals, disaster response programs, Google Search, and government projects. Google is also releasing research tools and datasets so scientists can test and build on the work.
