AI INSIGHTS
Will AI wipe out jobs? Goldman Sachs just published new research, and their answer is: yes… but only for a while. Roles will shift, productivity will spike, and new work will appear - just like every other tech revolution before this.
6–7% workforce displacement risk if AI fully scales in the U.S
2.5% jobs at risk today if current use cases just expand a bit
0.5% temporary unemployment rise during the transition, Goldman says “frictional” layoffs should resolve in ~2 years.
High exposure jobs: programmers, accountants, admin assistants, customer support
Low exposure jobs: air traffic controllers, radiologists, pharmacists, CEOs
Adoption still low: only ~9.3% of U.S. firms are actively running gen-AI in production today.
Younger workers is taking the hit first: Unemployment among 20–30 year olds in AI-exposed roles has jumped ~3 points in 2025. And Goldman thinks this isn’t a “Jobpocalypse”:
History check: 60% of jobs today didn’t exist in 1940. Tech keeps destroying old roles but inventing new ones
Pattern repeat: from steam engines to the internet, disruption spikes unemployment briefly, then levels out
AI ≠ full replacement: it automates tasks inside jobs more than entire careers
Why It Matters: Goldman’s report is basically saying: AI is a disturbance event. And in every market disturbance, small, fast movers colonize first. That’s the opening. You are no longer your job title, you’re the results you deliver.

AI CHART
AI adoption isn’t universal, and ChatGPT proves it. While millions use OpenAI’s tools every day, a growing list of governments are saying “not here.”
In 2025, ChatGPT is banned or unavailable in 20 countries. According to a recent Cybernews + OpenAI dataset, these 20 countries either ban ChatGPT directly or aren’t supported by OpenAI:
Blocked by governments (18 countries) mostly due to censorship, political control, or security fears
Not supported by OpenAI (2 regions) likely due to business or legal complexities: Hong Kong & Belarus
In places like China or Iran, instead of allowing foreign LLMs, governments promote domestic AI tools that are easier to monitor - like Qwen or DeepSeek.
Access to advanced tools like ChatGPT is becoming a geo-political issue. So we’re watching a split internet grow in real-time
→ one with U.S.-style openness, and one that’s locked down. China is also aggressively developing their own ChatGPT rivals.
