Sexually explicit content (even asked about sexual preferences)
These responses came with no parental controls in place
Built for kids as young as 3
Then, Curio’s Grok: Refused to answer inappropriate questions, directed users to ask an adult
These toys are marketed to children but powered by the same LLMs used in adult chatbots. Even OpenAI says aren’t recommended for kids.
OpenAI responded, stating that companies using their models are required to implement safety policies for minors. But enforcement? That’s on the toy makers.

Aalto’s team found a way to run tensor operations, the backbone of AI models like GPT, Stable Diffusion, etc., using only light.
While GPUs push data through step by step, this system encodes it directly into the amplitude and phase of light waves. As the light moves through an optical setup, it automatically does the math.
They’re calling it single-shot tensor computing, and it works at the speed of light. How it actually works:
They embed digital values into light waves
As the light propagates, it naturally performs complex ops like matrix multiplication
It even supports high-order tensors by working across multiple wavelengths
The entire computation? Done in one pass
Instead of scanning one package at a time, it’s like running all packages through all scanners at once.
It's not quantum computing but it offers quantum-like parallelism with none of the fragility. Someone at NVIDIA better be watching this.
