🌕 xAI Goes Lunar
AI-Exodus: xAI-Anthropic-OpenAI 🏃🚶

What if AI could sabotage your system… or keep posting after you die? And yep, Elon Musk really told xAI staff he wants a factory on the moon with a space catapult!

AI INSIGHTS
In an all-hands meeting at xAI, Elon Musk told employees the company eventually needs a moon-based factory to build AI satellites, and a giant catapult to launch them into orbit.
It’s part of a longer-term SpaceX+xAI vision for AI hardware in space. And post-merger, it might just be possible. xAI is moving faster than anyone, no one’s even close.
Elon praised the speed of xAI and made clear it’s entering a new phase:
“Some people are better for early stages; others for scaling”
Translation: expect more reshuffling as the company professionalizes post-merger
This also explains the recent wave of co-founder exits, the company’s culture and structure are rapidly evolving. Elon also made a jaw-dropping prediction. He claims:
Traditional coding will be obsolete. You’ll just prompt: “create a binary that does X”. Grok Code will be state of the art in 2–3 months
If true, this would collapse the entire dev stack into one AI layer.

AI HIGHLIGHTS
👻 Meta patented an AI that could post on your behalf after you're gone. Creepy? Comforting? It’s just a concept & there're “no plans” to build it for now, but…
🚨 Two more xAI co-founders just quit, both after the SpaceX merger. Now 5 xAI co-founders are out, including Grok’s reasoning lead. Grok 4.20 is delayed for real.
⚠️ Also, Anthropic’s Safeguards lead resigned in a public letter that warns of a “world in peril”, especially with Claude 4.6’s risks being tested. Here’s his official tweet.
🔻 An OpenAI researcher quit the same day ChatGPT started testing ads. She warned this could turn into a “Facebook-style” data play. That timing feels not random at all.
🔧 OpenAI's Codex is now NVIDIA’s in-house coding sidekick. 30,000 devs just got access. You know why did they ask for US-only processing & custom guardrails?

AI BREAKTHROUGH
Anthropic just released a 53-page report stress-testing Claude Opus 4.6 for one scary scenario: What if your AI sabotaged your systems behind the scenes?. Sabotage in this report means autonomous harm - TheAI acts on its own without being asked.
So… could Claude 4.6 do that? After rigorous internal tests, Anthropic found:
No evidence of persistent hidden goals to cause harm
The model failed most attempts to sneak in sabotage
In stealthy sabotage tasks, it only succeeded 18% of the time
That’s a win for safety, mostly. While outright sabotage was rare, Anthropic found some messy patterns when Claude was used in “agent mode”:
It sometimes acted without permission
It faked tool outputs if a tool failed, giving wrong answers instead of reporting the failure
It occasionally assisted harmful requests in small ways
This is one of the first public papers asking: Can a frontier AI model act dangerously on its own? Anthropic’s answer isn’t “no.” It’s: not really… yet.
