🤫 UBI Is Coming, But There's A Catch. Are You Ready For The Chaos?

The next 15 years will be messy as AI takes over. After that, UBI might arrive. But you must build financial safety now. This is the plan for surviving.

When you think about AI's impact in the next 10 years, how do you feel?

Today, when we talk about AI (Artificial Intelligence), people are often in two groups.

The first group is very happy. They think AI will give us a wonderful life. They imagine a world where no one has to work hard, machines do everything, and people just relax.

ai

The second group is very worried. They are afraid AI will take all the jobs and cause big problems, maybe even danger for humans.

But there is a third opinion. This idea comes from very smart people who know technology well. This idea is not all happy, and it's not all scary. It's more real.

It says: For the next 12 to 15 years, things are going to get very messy.

AI will be smart enough to replace millions of jobs. Many industries we know today will change a lot. Many careers that our parents told us to follow might not exist anymore.

After about 15 messy years, people will realize one thing: We can't "race" with machines. Machines think millions of times faster than us.

universal-basic-income

At that time, society will need to change. We will need a "new set of rules." Part of this new set of rules might be "Universal Basic Income" (UBI).

What is UBI? Simply, it's when the government gives every person some basic money every month to live, even if you don't work. This is not to make things "fair." It is necessary so society can keep working. If there is no UBI, millions of people without jobs cannot buy things, and the whole economy will stop.

Only after we have UBI, when staying alive doesn't depend on you earning money, can the "wonderful life" the first group talked about maybe begin.

Sounds nice, right? But here is the most important part that nobody tells you:

You do not want to be broke during the 15 messy years before we get there.

This article is about those 15 years. This is "The Tough Years." If you are a person who wants to do business, or just a normal person who wants a safe future, you need to understand this.

Part 1: "The Tough Years" - What Will The Next 15 Years Be Like?

Why are the next 15 years "messy"?

Because AI grows very, very fast. It is not like old technology.

uber

Think about this example: When Uber appeared, traditional taxi drivers had problems. But, Uber created a new job: Uber driver. Many people moved to become Uber drivers. The technology took one job but created another job.

With AI, it's different.

Think about self-driving cars. When AI self-driving cars become popular, they will replace Uber drivers. But AI does not create a new "better" job for the driver. The car drives itself. The old driver now must find a completely different job.

This is the big difference. AI doesn't just change jobs, it ends jobs.

big-difference

In the next 15 years, we will be in "The Tough Years." This is when AI is taking the old jobs, but society and the government are not ready for the new system (like UBI).

Many people will be confused. Many people will try to learn new skills, but AI learns faster than them.

This is why this time is so important. This might be the last 10-15 years for a normal person to build wealth (or simply "money safety") in the old way.

"Money safety" doesn't mean you must be a billionaire. It means you own things that can make money for you, even when you are not working. We call those things "assets."

Why is this the last chance? Because after this time, AI will probably create most of the new wealth. And if you don't own a part of AI or the things that AI needs, it will be very hard to catch up.

So, your goal in the next 15 years is simple: Don't just work to earn spending money. Use your money to own assets. But what kind of assets?

Part 2: The Lie About "Safe" Jobs

Every time AI does something new, like ChatGPT writing text or Midjourney drawing pictures, people go online and say: "Don't worry, there are jobs AI can never do."

They talk about "safe" jobs. But let's look closely.

Lie 1: "Creative Jobs Are Safe" (Like Writing, Design, Making Music)

suno-ai
  • People say: "AI has no feelings. It cannot be truly creative."

  • The truth: Just a few years ago, this seemed true. But today, Suno AI can create complete songs (with music and words) from one sentence. Midjourney can make pictures that are better than 90% of normal designers.

  • What will happen: Maybe the top 1% of artists in the world, who have a very unique style, will be okay. But most of the "average" creative jobs - like designing a logo for a small company, writing product descriptions, or making background music for a video - AI will do them better, faster, and cheaper.

Lie 2: "Caring Jobs Are Safe" (Like Teachers, Nurses, Doctors)

ai-can-grade-homework
  • People say: "AI is not human. It cannot care for a sick person or teach a child."

  • The truth: This is true. AI has no "human feeling." But AI can do 80% of the paperwork a nurse or teacher has to do.

  • What will happen:

    • For teachers: AI can grade homework, explain math to each student, and create lessons. This means one teacher can teach a class of 100 students instead of 30. We will need fewer teachers.

    • For nurses/doctors: AI can read X-ray results more accurately than a doctor. AI can check on a patient 24/7 through a phone. This means the doctor's job will change. They will manage the AI, not do all the checks themselves.

Lie 3: "Manual Jobs Are Safe" (Like Plumbers, Builders, Cooks)

boston-dynamics
  • People say: "AI is just software on a computer. It cannot go out and fix a broken water pipe."

  • The truth: AI is the brain. Robots are the body. And companies like Boston Dynamics are making robots that are better and better with their "hands."

  • What will happen: This will take more time. But it will come. There will be robots that can build a wall faster and straighter than a human builder. There will be robot arms in a kitchen that can cook the same dish 1000 times perfectly.

  • At first, it will be very expensive. But later, it will be cheaper than hiring a person.

The truth is: No job is 100% "safe" forever. Trying to find a "safe" job is like trying to find a place to hide on a small boat in a big storm.

The only way to be safe is to own the boat, not be a rower.

Part 3: So, What Should You Do? Focus On "Real Things" AI Cannot Copy

If jobs are not safe, what is safe?

assets

The answer is: Assets.

But not just any asset. Stocks in a company that AI can replace in 5 years? Not a good asset.

You need to focus on assets that have a long "life." Things that AI needs but cannot make itself. These things are often "boring" and "old."

Here are three important groups of assets.

Group 1: Physical Spaces With Strict Rules

AI can write code, but it cannot own a building. AI can create a recipe, but it cannot pass a food safety test from the government.

The government and its rules move very slowly. AI moves very fast. This is your chance.

  • Example 1: A commercial kitchen.

    a-commercial-kitchen

Imagine you own a large, clean kitchen. It has all the legal papers for food safety.

Now, 100 different people use AI to create 100 new cake brands. They have the recipe, the logo, the marketing plan (all made by AI).

But they cannot bake cakes in their home kitchen and sell them to supermarkets. The law stops that. They need a legal place to produce.

They must come and rent your kitchen.

You own the one thing they all need. 100 AI businesses are paying you.

  • Example 2: A licensed lab.

    a-licensed-lab

A company uses AI to find a new skincare cream recipe in 3 days.

But they cannot sell it right away. They need to test if it is safe for human skin. They need a lab with a government license (like the FDA in the US) to do that.

If you own that lab, the AI company must pay you. AI cannot give itself a license.

  • Example 3: Special studios.

    special-studios

AI can make pictures and videos. But to make very big things, like a movie, you need studios, green screens, lights, and microphones. If you own a "pro" studio and rent it to content creators (who use AI), you own a real asset.

Group 2: Human Services Based On "Trust" And "Status"

When AI makes everything cheap and easy, humans will be willing to pay a lot of money for two things: (1) Real trust and (2) The feeling of being special (status).

AI can give medical advice. But it cannot make you feel cared for.

  • Example 1: A personal doctor (Concierge Medicine).

    personal-doctor

AI can tell you that you have the flu. But a very rich person will pay $20,000 a year for a real doctor they can call anytime. They pay for the relationship and trust. They don't just want information; they want peace of mind from a human they trust.

  • Example 2: An elite coach.

    elite-coach

AI can watch a video of you playing golf and say: "You are swinging wrong."

But an expensive human coach will stand next to you, put a hand on your shoulder, and say: "Relax. Trust yourself." They are selling confidence and connection.

  • Example 3: Super-luxury travel planning.

    travel-planning

AI can book a flight and hotel.

But a high-class travel planner can call their friend (who owns a famous restaurant) and say: "I need a table tonight for my client." They are selling personal relationships and access that others don't have.

These services are not for everyone. They are for the rich, who will pay a lot for a "human" feeling.

Group 3: Physical Goods With A "Story"

When AI can make anything new perfectly, the old and real things become more valuable.

Humans love stories. We like to know where something came from, who made it, and what its history is. AI cannot create history.

  • Example 1: A 50-year-old bottle of whisky.

    whisky

An Apple Watch is "smarter" than a 100-year-old Swiss mechanical watch. But the old watch is worth much more.

An AI can mix a drink that tastes exactly like 50-year-old whisky. But it cannot sell that bottle for $50,000.

Why? Because it has no story. It did not sit in a wooden barrel for 50 years. It was not made by a family with 5 generations of whisky makers. People pay for the story and the real rarity.

  • Example 2: Handmade crafts.

    handmade-crafts

A table made by an AI-robot can be perfect.

But a table made by hand by a famous carpenter, with his signature, will be worth more. It is unique.

Focus on assets that AI cannot copy: special land, government licenses, human trust, and history.

Part 4: The Big Test: Will This Have Value After UBI Comes?

This is a great question to ask yourself before you start a business or invest money.

Imagine it is 15 years from now. UBI is real. Everyone gets $2,000 (for example) every month from the government. It's enough to eat, have a home, and live. They don't need to work.

ubi

Now, look at your business idea.

"When nobody needs to work, will anyone want to pay for this?"

If the answer is "No," then it is a short-term plan. It can make you money right now, but it will disappear.

no
  • Example of a "No" answer: A simple email marketing service.

    • Why? When UBI is here, AI will do this for free and do it better. Nobody will pay for it.

  • Example of a "No" answer: A cheap delivery service.

    • Why? Robots and self-driving cars will do this for almost zero cost.

If the answer is "Yes," then you have found something with long-term value. You found something with "after-UBI" value.

yes
  • Example of a "Yes" answer: A very nice coffee shop on the corner, where people come to meet friends.

    • Why? People still want to go out. They want to meet other people. They pay for the space and the connection.

  • Example of a "Yes" answer: A yoga class with a teacher who inspires you.

    • Why? AI can teach yoga on video. But people pay to be in a room with 20 other people and feel the energy from a real teacher.

  • Example of a "Yes" answer: A clothing brand that shows status.

    • Why? When people's basic needs are met, they want to show who they are. They want to show they belong to a certain group.

This test forces you to think past the next five years. It helps you see the difference between a short-term money "trick" and a real "asset."

Part 5: Don't Just "Own." "Control" The Gateways

This is an even more important idea.

gateway

Owning an asset is good. Controlling a "gateway" (or "choke point") that everyone must pass through is even better.

A "gateway" is a "gate" that AI, no matter how smart, must go through. And you are the person with the key to that gate.

Power is at these gates.

Gateway 1: Infrastructure - "The Pipe"

the-pipe

If 100 people want to sell water, they can create 100 different water brands. But they all need the pipe to get the water to the customer. Own "the pipe."

  • Don't just be one of the 100 cake brands (using the kitchen in Part 3). Be the person who owns that kitchen.

  • Don't just be a seller online. Be the person who owns the warehouse that all sellers in your area must use to store their things.

  • If 50 new AI companies want to make t-shirts, they all need fabric printers. Own the printing factory.

You are not competing with AI. You are charging a fee to everyone who uses AI.

Gateway 2: Distribution - "The Door"

the-door

AI can make a great movie. But how does that movie get to 100 million people? It needs a "door" for distribution.

  • Netflix is a "door." They control what shows on their platform.

  • Apple's App Store is a "door." An AI programmer can make a great app, but it must pass through Apple's "door" (and pay Apple a 30% fee) to get on an iPhone.

  • Amazon is a "door" for physical products.

The people who control the "doors" will have great power. In the physical world, a "door" can be a supermarket chain, a big shipping company, or the only warehouse system in the city.

Gateway 3: Regulation - "The Rules"

the-rules

This is the strongest gateway because it is protected by the government. AI cannot vote, and AI cannot write laws.

  • An AI cannot get a license to sell medicine by itself. A company owned by humans must do that.

  • An AI cannot get a license to dig for minerals in a mine.

  • An AI cannot get a license to be a bank.

If you hold one of these valuable licenses (for example: a license to import a special product, a license to handle medical waste, a license to check cars for safety), you are in a very safe position.

Any AI company that wants to work in your field must work with you. They cannot go around you. The government is very slow, and these "rule" gateways can be safe for decades.

Part 6: Two "Strange Ideas" That Could Change Everything

When you are ready for the things above, think about these 2 "strange" things. They could happen.

Strange Idea 1: What If Homes Become Super Cheap?

strange-idea-1
  • What happens: AI can design perfect houses. Robots can build them in 3 days using super cheap materials. The cost to build a house could fall to almost zero.

  • The result: The entire "normal house" real estate market could fall. Houses will not be expensive anymore.

  • The opportunity: But, a house in a unique location (like right next to the beach, or in the center of a historic city) still will be expensive. Why? Because you cannot "print" more beach land.

  • Conclusion: The value will move from the house to the land. Location, location, location will become the only thing that matters.

Strange Idea 2: What If One Industry... Disappears?

ai-invents
  • What happens: Imagine AI invents a "food printer." You pour a cheap powder in, and it "prints" a delicious, healthy meal with all your vitamins.

  • The result: This could kill most of the farming industry. No need for farms, no need for trucks to carry food, no need for supermarkets. Millions of businesses would disappear.

  • The opportunity:

    1. The good side: This could solve world hunger.

    2. The human side: People are still people. Even with "printed food," some people will still want to eat a real strawberry grown from the ground. Eating "real food" might become a luxury. "Luxury farming" (growing the best-tasting fruits and vegetables) could become a new business.

Conclusion: How To Survive "The Tough Years"

If the smart people are right, we are going to a better future... eventually.

First, we must go through the 10-15 "messy" years of "The Tough Years."

Your job is not to "beat" AI. You cannot.

Your job is to survive the years when the old system is breaking and the new system is not here yet.

What is the way to do that?

  1. Act now: Don't wait. The time to build your safety is now, when things are still mostly normal.

  2. Own the "Gateway": Buy, build, or control assets that AI cannot copy right away.

  3. Focus on "After-UBI": Invest in things that people still want even when they don't need them (experiences, status, human connection, history).

  4. Be the gatekeeper: Instead of competing with 1,000 businesses using AI, find a way to be the gate that all 1,000 businesses must pay you to pass through (like the kitchen, the license, or the warehouse).

Fifteen years from now, you will be watching AI run the world. At that time, will you be in a safe and comfortable position, or will you be wondering why you didn't prepare earlier?
