For the first time ever, Anthropic’s Claude models are now the #1 choice for enterprise AI → beating OpenAI at the one game it couldn’t afford to lose: business adoption.
According to new data from Menlo Ventures, Claude owns 32% of enterprise usage, while OpenAI sits at 25%. And if you narrow it down to coding workloads? Claude takes 42%, with OpenAI trailing far behind at 21%.
That’s a complete flip from 2023, when OpenAI had 50% and Claude only 12%.
While OpenAI dominated headlines and consumers (2.5B prompts a day!), Claude quietly became the developer’s best friend, especially for companies shipping real products. OpenAI < Open Claude!
