What Happens When AI Learns About You

AI INSIGHTS

A skill is a directory containing a SKILL.md file that contains organized folders of instructions, scripts, and resources that give agents additional capabilities.

Anthropic just dropped Claude Haiku 4.5, a compact, lightning-fast model tuned for coding and task automation. But the real star is something new - Agent Skills - a feature that lets Claude load modular abilities on demand, almost like AI plug-ins for specific tasks.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Context-aware loading: Claude only activates a skill when it’s needed.

  • Composable workflows: Multiple skills can run together - edit docs, crunch data, and code at once.

  • Cross-platform: Works on Claude.ai, Claude Code, and the API.

  • Code execution: Skills can include runnable scripts in Claude’s sandbox.

  • Portable: Each skill is just a folder - drop it into any Claude setup.

How it works: Every skill includes a simple SKILL.md file with metadata and instructions. Claude reads it, decides if it’s relevant, and loads only what’s needed. It keeps the base model lean but smart - like giving Claude a toolbox it can open when the job demands it.

Available now across Claude.ai, Claude Code, and the Claude Agent SDK - Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise tiers included. For devs, there’s even a /v1/skills API endpoint and a “skill-creator” tool to get started.

Why it matters: This moves Claude from “a chat model” to something closer to an extensible AI agent. Think of it as Anthropic’s answer to OpenAI’s GPTs or Gemini’s Extensions - but lighter, faster, and easier for teams to build on. Claude isn’t just talking anymore. It’s learning how to work.

AI HIGHLIGHTS

🧩 Claude + Microsoft 365 is now live. Anthropic’s new MCP connector lets you search across SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams directly inside Claude. You can ask about HR docs, client emails, or project chats - all in one thread. Enterprise search is now real for every Team and Enterprise user.

📉 ChatGPT app growth slows down. Apptopia reports global downloads down 8.1% and U.S. usage time dropped 22.5% since July. Still millions of installs per day - but users are spending less time. Gemini’s Nano Banana and GPT-5 changes may be part of the reason.

📸 Meta’s new AI photo tool scans your camera roll to “find hidden gems.” Opt-in only, but yes - if you edit or share, your photos can train Meta’s AI. It’s rolling out in the U.S. and Canada, with cloud uploads for creative suggestions.

🎬 OpenAI’s Sora 2 adds Storyboards for planning and longer videos. Pro users can now generate up to 25-second cinematic clips on web. Regular users get 15-second limits. Try the new ‘storyboard’ mode at sora.com.

🗣️ Perplexity adds language learning. You can now practice vocabulary, flashcards, and real conversations directly inside Perplexity on iOS or web. A smart mix of search + learning - it’s free to try.

💰 AI Daily Fundraising: Strella raised $14M Series A led by Bessemer Venture Partners to scale its AI customer research platform used by Amazon and Duolingo. The funding will expand its mobile-first AI insights and speed up qualitative research from weeks to hours.

AI CHART

how-people-around-the-world-feel-about-ai

A new global survey by Pew Research Center shows a clear split in how people see AI’s growing role in daily life - 34% are more concerned than excited, 42% feel both, and only 16% are mostly excited.

Older adults, women, and those with lower education or less internet use tend to be more worried about AI. Younger, tech-savvy users are more optimistic, especially in places like South Korea, where 39% of those familiar with AI say they’re excited about it.

Key contrasts:

  • U.S., Italy, Brazil, Greece: Nearly half say they’re more concerned than excited.

  • UK: 47% of women vs. 32% of men are mainly concerned.

  • Greece: 59% of older adults worry about AI, compared to just 18% of younger ones.

  • Frequent internet users show less fear than those who go online rarely.

The takeaway: The more people understand AI, the less they fear it. Education and familiarity may be the real keys to turning concern into confidence.
