California-based startup Pickle Inc. launched “Pickle 1”, an aluminum, 68g pair of AR glasses that claims to be more than just a wearable. According to the company, it’s a “new soul.” Pickle says the glasses:

• Use cameras, mics, sensors, and onboard AI

• Observe your life, learn your patterns, and remember what matters

• Organize your daily habits and moments into searchable memory bubbles

• Act as a proactive assistant, giving real-time overlays, reminders, and suggestions

And it’s all packed into a lightweight, everyday-looking frame. While the concept demo video shows voice interactions far beyond Meta’s current tech, many experts are calling it “a mold from China” with no working hardware.

AR veterans point out that even Xreal’s flagship glasses (with no cameras, compute, or battery) weigh more than what Pickle claims. The form factor, battery needs, and compute claims are physically implausible with today’s tech.

🎮 NVIDIA’s NitroGen: A Gaming AI Trained on YouTube and Twitch

If you've ever wondered what a “foundation model for gaming agents” might look like, NVIDIA’s NitroGen is out, and trained entirely on YouTube and Twitch gameplay.

NVIDIA scraped 40,000 hours of gameplay footage from 1,000+ titles, focusing on videos that showed on-screen controller overlays, y’know, those buttons and joystick visuals streamers often display. It can:

• Play 2D and 3D games (platformers, action-RPGs, roguelikes, etc.)

• Execute zero-shot tasks across multiple genres

• Show strong transfer learning, outperforming from-scratch models by up to 52% after fine-tuning on unseen games

Even in low-data settings (just 30h of gameplay), NitroGen beats traditional approaches. It’s closer to GPT than AlphaStar.

Also… it’s open-source. The dataset, weights, and evaluation suite are all released. So you can take it, fine-tune it on your favorite game, and start building.

Next up? We’ll probably see models like NitroGen controlling robots… or helping developers build full AI companions that can actually play games alongside you.
